Online News vs. Newspapers

2010-03-08

The Internet is now the third most-popular news platform, behind local and national television news. The survey of 2,259 U.S. adults found 59 percent of respondents get news from a mixture of online and offline sources. More than 28% of Internet users have customized their homepage to include news sources. 37% of Internet users get news updates from social media sites like Facebook and Twitter.

However there are mixed feelings about Internet news. 55% say it is easier to keep up with news than it was five years ago, but 70 percent feel the amount of news available from different sources is overwhelming.
